Dr Mary Strangman Large Room in Waterford
The room was designed as an eighteenth-century ballroom. Its lofty ceiling, decorative stucco work, crystal chandeliers, musicians gallery and well-proportioned windows reflect Georgian Waterford. Waterford Music keeps its own Steinway Model C piano at the venue.
One early reference to the ballroom dates to 1792, when the mayor hosted a benefit ball to raise funds for food and fuel for people in need. Today the space continues to welcome audiences for concerts in the heart of the city.
