Damien Tiernan Joins WLRFM
Announced just this morning is the news that Damien Tiernan is to join local radio station WLRFM starting as anchor on Déise Today which is broadcast weekdays Monday to Friday from 10 am to 12 noon.
Damien, who was the RTE News south east correspondent for the past 23 years left RTE at the beginning of the year will be taking over from Eamon Keane, on Waterford’s most popular radio show a legacy started by the late Billy McCarthy.

Originally from Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow, Mr Tiernan began his career in journalism as a reporter with the New Ross Standard, before joining RTE. Damien lives at Passage East in Waterford and is very active in the local community.
Over the years Damien has broken many a news item not only in Waterford but in the south east. Damien will take over the show from Monday the 4th of Februrary.
