Spraoi proves time and time again what can be done here in Waterford City.
Spraoi weekend is all over for another year but what an amazing weekend we just had here in Waterford City. The organisers and all the team at Spraoi should take a bow and be proud of what they have achieved . The atmosphere, the entertainment, the community spirit and the fun is what Spraoi is all about. Starting on Friday last the 29th of July and finishing last night (Sunday the 31st of July) with one of the most impressive fireworks display that we have ever seen in the city, it will be a weekend that will be long remembered.
On Sunday night Waterford In Your Pocket “Live Streamed” from the parade and the fireworks and over 40,000 people from around the world joined in by watching on Facebook. And along with the thousands that followed the parade en route, we would have to say it was one of the best yet.
With over 200 acts around the city there was something for everyone. It was amazing to walk around the city and see so many people with smiles on their faces and full of anticipation. The choice of entertainment was vast.
Spraoi Weekend and the weather played its part!
The music offering was second to none and the last gig of the weekend in John Roberts Square was played out by Cry Before Dawn and attracted over 3,000 people. Can you see yourself in the crowd?
