The Heat is On with The Lit Festival 2019

The festival is Ireland’s only literature festival run by young people for young people and the committee are pushing boundaries not even in their sights when they first came on the scene three years ago.
This year sees an exciting new addition to the programme – the launch of their very own anthology “We Already Have A Voice”, a collection of poems and short stories written by members of the Waterford Youth Arts Creative Writing programme and supported by Arts Office of Waterford Council.

Kicking off the festivities on Friday is a schools event with author Dave Rudden, followed that evening by the incredible Natalya O’Flaherty in St. Patricks Gateway Centre and the anthology launch directly afterwards.
Saturday sees workshops from festival favourites Erin Forno
An action–packed weekend, stuffed with workshops, readings and open mics! The Lit is truly a chance for young people who like to create, rant, dream or do all three to come together and make new friends and many memories! With a mix of free and reasonably priced ticketed events (€5 and under) there is something for everyone. Check out thelit.eu for the full programme and Eventbrite for all tickets.
