Tramore Amusements have been a family fun tradition for many generations and after a long lockdown everyone is looking forward to having a bit of fun. It’s not the summer if the amusements are not open in Tramore and if you have never visited then you are in for a real treat.
Tramore offers so much to visitors with plenty of things to do including the Lafcadio Hearne Japanese Gardens which is well worth a visit for its peace and tranquility.

Tramore or Trá Mhór, meaning “big strand/beach” is one of Ireland’s best-loved beaches. Tramore is famous for it’s 5km golden, sandy beach surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean nestled between Brownstown Head to the East and Newtown Head to the west where stands the famous “Metal Man”. Behind the majestic sand dunes of the bay is the “Back Strand” which is a haven for migrating birds in winter.
Tramore has long attracted watersports enthusiasts and surf lessons and equipment are available from the many surf schools and clubs such as T-Bay and Freedom Surf. Windsurfing and kitesurfing are also popular sports at Tramore Bay.
Tramore is also a popular destination for angling. The Back Strand has produced a number of specimen flounder and bass with other species include Pollock, Dogfish, Dabs, Coal Fish and Whiting. The cliffs around Tramore also offer excellent rock fishing.
Famous throughout Ireland Tramore offers a traditional seaside experience of ice-cream, fairground, and sand. A walk along The Promenade, or The Prom as it is affectionately known, serves as a very popular destination all year round for a stroll in any weather. With the new introduction of coffee shops along the eastern part of the beach you can sit and take in the beautiful scenery that Tramore has to offer.
