Waterford Camino Tours
Launched
There is nothing like coming across good news and the newly developed Waterford Camino Tours is another great way of exploring not only Waterford but also yourself.
Did you know that ‘Camion’ translated from Spanish means path and has a a strong historic resonance in Waterford dating back to the 5th Century when St. Declan travelled from his Holy Well in Ardmore to Cashel, Co. Tipperary.
In the 1400s, Waterford Mayor James Rice led pilgrims from Ireland to the renowned Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain.
Waterford Camino Tours is building on this proud heritage and is creating an opening for visitors from near and far to walk in the footsteps of our ancestors through Ireland’s Ancient East. Follow our story through the Waterford Greenway, Comeragh Mountains and the stunning Copper Coast.
Waterford’s new 45km Greenway opens up the Waterford countryside like never before. Meandering its way from Waterford City to Dungarvan on the old railway line, the Greenway gives us unprecedented access to this scenic gem that has been hidden for too long! Waterford Camino Tours invites walkers and cyclists alike to experience the unique natural treasures of the Waterford Greenway and the trails that lead off it.
“Waterford Camino Tours provides professional guided tours along Waterford’s Greenway, Comeragh Mountains and Copper Coast. There is a Camino package for those interested in spiritual walks, trails and cycling, with more energetic team building activities for sports groups and a gentle Camino for those less active.
