Against the Current proudly present the Waterford Retro Festival 2019.
This is a festival celebrating the music, fashion, lifestyles that influenced the many sub cultures involved in the Against The Current Waterford’s Countercultural Movements Project (1976 – 1999) including Mods, Bikers, Skinhead, Punk and many more. Against the Current explores the origins, evolution, and legacies of diverse local collectives such as The Freewheelers Motorcycle Club, Mods, Ska, Punk, Indie and the early underground dance scene in Waterford, revealing the fascinating ways in which interconnections were formed between music, fashion, and lifestyle among the groups in question.
Waterford Retro Festival will have something for everyone – with a street festival in Waterford’s Cultural Quarter, bands, DJ’s, film, exhibitions and much much more…
