Forest Bathing – Experience the healing power of nature

Registrations and further info: https://www.travelawakens.com/forest/

Drawing on the ancient Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku, or forest bathing, this unique event is designed to help you connect with nature in a profound and meaningful way.

Unlike what the name might suggest, forest bathing doesn’t require any actual immersion in water. Rather, the practice encourages you to become more attuned to your natural environment, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells in a mindful and intentional way.

Whether you’re a seasoned nature lover or simply looking for a new way to immerse yourself in the magic of nature, this is a unique opportunity to feel more relaxed, energised, and connected to the natural world around you.

East Meets West 20km Cycle

What's on in Waterford? The Waterford Lions Club in collaboration with Dungarvan Lions Club announces the much- anticipated annual Greenway Leisure Cycle. This year’s event, sponsored by Waterford Castle – The Island Resort, is taking place on Sunday, the 19th of May, 2024. Mark your calendars for a day of fitness, fun, and philanthropy as the East meets West in a spectacular 20km cycle.

This charitable event aims to bring together the local community and cycling enthusiasts from all over, with all proceeds going directly to support the vital services provided by the Waterford Hospice. The hospice plays an instrumental role in our community, offering palliative care services to patients with life-limiting illnesses.
The cycle will kick off at two different points to embody the unity of the region. Participants can start at the SETU Car Park in Carriganore between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM, or they can choose to begin at Clonea Strand in Dungarvan. Both routes will converge at the Rainbow Community Hall in Kilmacthomas where the event will culminate. Cyclists of all levels are encouraged to join and ride at their own pace in a non-competitive, leisure-focused spirit.
