East Meets West 20km Cycle
The Waterford Lions Club in collaboration with Dungarvan Lions Club announces the much- anticipated annual Greenway Leisure Cycle. This year’s event, sponsored by Waterford Castle – The Island Resort, is taking place on Sunday, the 19th of May, 2024. Mark your calendars for a day of fitness, fun, and philanthropy as the East meets West in a spectacular 20km cycle.
This charitable event aims to bring together the local community and cycling enthusiasts from all over, with all proceeds going directly to support the vital services provided by the Waterford Hospice. The hospice plays an instrumental role in our community, offering palliative care services to patients with life-limiting illnesses.
The cycle will kick off at two different points to embody the unity of the region. Participants can start at the SETU Car Park in Carriganore between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM, or they can choose to begin at Clonea Strand in Dungarvan. Both routes will converge at the Rainbow Community Hall in Kilmacthomas where the event will culminate. Cyclists of all levels are encouraged to join and ride at their own pace in a non-competitive, leisure-focused spirit. Light refreshments will be available for all participants upon finishing, giving everyone a chance to relax, mingle, and share their experiences from the cycle. It is not just an event; It’s an experience!
