Christmas Day Plunge!!
Join one of the Christmas Day Swims in your area for yourselves, for fun and for great causes!
The Christmas Day swim is always great craic and there’s nothing like braving the waters and whetting your appetite before the Christmas day dinner!! High tide countywide is between 7am and 7.30am depending on which part of the coast but there will be plenty of water out there still at 11 or 12 noon for you to take your plunge!
You know that swimsuit, bikini or trunks you bought at the end of Summer sales or the ones you bought at the start of the fabulous hot Summer we had and never wore because it was …..too hot!😜 – well now it’s time to root it out and show it off with your Santa hat on!!
Ardmore
The 22nd annual Ardmore Christmas Day Swim “The dash to slash” will once again be at 12:15pm from Ardmore Beach. High tide is at 7:05am so you will have a bit of a run this year but that only makes it more fun!!

Clonea Strand
Dungarvan Lions Christmas Day Swim will be held at Clonea Beach at 12 noon. Sponsorship money can be brought along on the day. All proceeds to Dungarvan Lions Charities. More info. and sponsorship details available from Dungarvan Lions Club HERE.
Stradbally Cove
The proceeds of the Christmas Day Swim in Stradbally Cove are going to the Irish Wheelchair Association. Sponsorship cards are available from Stradbally AFC secretary Damien Sheehan, as well as Amy Fitzgerald and Caroline Lacey. More info. also on their Facebook page HERE.
Kilmurrin Cove
This years swim is in aid of the Copper Coast Scout Group. They have acquired planning permission for a scout lodge at Ballyscanlon in Fenor, this will be a great asset to all scout groups, so give them a hand to get this up and running, If you decide on Christmas morning to go swimming, and you haven’t got a swim card, don’t worry, you can donate to the bucket collection on the morning. Get there early, so you won’t have to walk too far to and from the swim. As they have for numerous years now Bonmahon Lifeguards will be in charge of the safety aspects of the swim, listen to their advice at all times. Portlaw Red Cross will be on duty there, hopefully they won’t be called upon. So, see you all in Kilmurrin Cove on Christmas morning for the Michael Power Christmas Day Memorial Swim, enjoy the the Christmas atmosphere, meet old friends, make new friends, and work up an appetite for that big feast!! Newtown Cove & Guillamene Swimming ClubThis years Christmas Day Swim is in aid of Waterford Viking Halliwick Swim Club.
There’s no better way to start a Christmas morning than taking a dip or swim with family and friends followed by a hot soup or tea/coffee and supporting such a wonderful Charity. So make sure to come along and share in this Traditional Event and help in raising as much as possible. Sponsorship cards are available at the hut at the Guillamene each morning from 11am onwards. Tramore :Â T-Bay Surf Club Splash & Dash
There’s always an amazing fun atmosphere at the T-Bay Christmas Splash & Dash! Participants come from all over the County and this year it takes off at 11am at the Lower Prom in Tramore. There will be a bucket collection with WLR FM in aid of the WLR Christmas Appeal for our local St. Vincent De Paul. Get on down there if you can – it’s one swim/splash /dash or freeze your bits to bits that you can’t miss!!

Dunmore East
The Dunmore East Christmas Day Swim in aid of 2nd Port Dunmore East Sea Scouts will take place at The Strand at 12 noon.
