Gardai Appeal Not to Post Images of Accidents

Social media is a great way to connect with people and also to see what’s going on around you and to keep up with the news and so much more.  But at times we tend to forget what we are posting and the effect that it may have on others.
Not to Post Images of Accidents
Images of a crash which happened on the M50 outside Dublin , where a woman in her 30’s lost her life, started to go viral when commuters in cars passing started taking photos and video and sharing to social media. An Garda Síochána have issued an appeal to people respect people’s privacy when it comes to accidents that you may come across.
“Investigating Gardaí are aware of images taken at the crash site currently being circulated online and are asking people not to share or circulate the images out of respect to the family of the deceased and those involved in the collision”.
Our advice to you is to put yourself in others shoes. Remember the golden rule,

“only post photos of others that you would want posted of you”.

We have so many things that we could be posting about and making good use of the camera on your smart phone.  So if you pass an accident then please leave your phone alone.
