Waterford county board has announced that Pauric Fanning is to succeed Derek McGrath as manager of the Waterford senior hurling team.
The search for a new manager started when Derek McGrath stepped down after five years at the helm following the Déises exit from the Munster Championship earlier this year
Fanning who is no stranger to Waterford hurling was a Wexford selector under Davy Fitzgerald for the last two years had the same role when Davy Fitz was Waterford manager.
The Waterford Footballers also have a new manager with Benji Whelan leading the team for 2019 after Tom McGlinchey stepped away after four years as manager last July.
Congratulations to Pauric Fanning who has been appointed as Waterford Senior Hurling Manager for 2019!
Also to Benji Whelan who has been elected as Waterford Senior Football Manager for 2019!— Waterford GAA (@WaterfordGAA) September 17, 2018
