Activate Waterford brings soft play, bowling, climbing and more together for an indoor family day out in Waterford City. Based at Ardkeen Village in Williamstown, it offers activities for different ages, with a café and pizzeria for a break between games. It is a handy option when rain changes your plans or you want an active outing with the children.
A family day out at Activate Waterford
Start with the ages and interests of your group. Younger children can explore soft play, while families can share a game of interactive ten-pin bowling. Older children may enjoy laser tag or a climbing session. Physical gaming and karaoke add other options, with advance booking required for karaoke.
You do not have to fit everything into one visit. Choose the activity that suits your family and check the official activity and booking information before setting off.
Soft play for little adventurers
The soft-play area includes a tiny-tot space, a toddler area and a three-level play frame. Activate describes facilities suitable from six months, while the main play frame is intended for children aged four and over. Children must be under 145 cm to use the frame.
Admission allows up to 90 minutes of soft play. Adults must supervise their children throughout the visit. Seating and free Wi-Fi are available for supervising adults. Check the soft-play information for current arrangements.
Bowling and climbing for bigger children
Six interactive bowling lanes with touchscreen consoles give families a shared indoor activity. For children who would like a climbing challenge, high-wall tasters are advertised for ages eight and over, using harnesses and ropes under instructor supervision.
Climbing must be booked ahead. Climbing and bouldering have their own induction and supervision rules, so read the climbing session information when choosing a visit.
Birthday parties and a food break
Birthday packages offer different combinations of activities. Contact Activate about suitable ages, group numbers and food arrangements before booking. The café and pizzeria offer somewhere to pause during your outing; ask directly about dietary requirements.
