It is a useful option for a rainy day with children, a group outing or a birthday celebration.
Indoor activities at Activate Waterford
Choose an activity around the ages and interests of your group. Bowling offers a shared game, while laser tag and the physical gaming area provide more active choices. Karaoke is also available for groups, with advance booking required. Visit the official activities page to see the current options and reserve a place.
Soft play for younger children
Activate has a tiny-tot area, a toddler area and a three-level play frame. Its soft-play information describes facilities suitable from six months, with the main frame intended for children aged four and over. Children must be under 145 cm to use the play frame.
Soft-play admission covers a maximum of 90 minutes. Adults must supervise children throughout the visit. Seating and free Wi-Fi are available for supervising adults. Check the soft-play booking information for current admission arrangements and restrictions.
Climbing and bowling
The venue has six interactive bowling lanes with touchscreen consoles. This gives families and friends another way to spend time together indoors.
High-wall climbing tasters are advertised for ages eight and over and use harnesses and ropes under instructor supervision. Pre-booking is essential. Climbing and bouldering have their own induction and adult-supervision requirements, so check the climbing information for the session you intend to book.
Parties and a food break
Activate offers birthday party packages with different activity combinations. Ask the venue about the package that suits your group, including minimum numbers, food arrangements and any age requirements.
The on-site café and pizzeria provide an option for a food or coffee break during your visit. Confirm any dietary requirements directly before booking a party or ordering food.
Explore beyond your visit
If you are continuing into the city centre after Activate, explore People’s Park and Medieval Museum, Bishop’s Palace and House of Waterford Crystal. Park Lodge Cafe and The Three Shippes & The Brig Bar offer food and drink options around the park. Plan travel from Ardkeen to these city-centre stops.
