Coumduala Loop Walk – Ballymacarbry

About the Walk:

If you are looking for a challenge then this walk is the one for you. The Coumduala Loop Walk is marked with purple markers. This is the most difficult and longest of the Nire Valley walks. On this trail you will see Coum Lara, a hollow with no lake as well as panoramic views of the surrounding counties from The Gap. In addition to these, the trail leads you up part of Knockanaffrin Ridge to a viewing platform overlooking Coumduala. If visibility is clear you will be able to see the peak of the beautiful Slievenamon. This is a very worthwhile walk with spectacular views – check the weather forecast beforehand and bring refreshments and preferably do this walk with a few others.
