The people of Dungarvan and west Waterford are in shock today after learning of the death of Michael Wright after a fatal accident on Sunday evening last. Michael, who was well known in the Dungarvan area, was a well known entertainer and many people have fond memories of him as “The Mad Hatter” who helped launched the Christmas period at Dungarvan Aglow.#
The Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber of Commerce posted this morning on their Facebook page,
“A Man, a Character and a Light. We’re heartbroken to learn the news that Dungarvan has lost it’s most popular resident. A friend to everyone he encountered, Michael Wright shared positivity and fun wherever he roamed. Without doubt he was Dungarvan’s greatest ambassador! He connected people though his beautiful facebook posts and at the events he DJ’d. His talent to make people of all ages laugh and feel good was so natural he is most definitely irreplaceable. His impact was enormous and so his loss will be immeasurable. Thoughts are with Michael’s beloved family at this most difficult time”.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 8.15pm at Killossera on the main N25. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward if they have any information and are asked to contact Dungarvan Garda Station 058-48600 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111
