Waterford City has a brand new library
Waterford City has a brand new library and it’s now open to the public at Carrickpherish on the western outskirts of the city.
The library is part of the Waterford Library Services and if you are a member of any library in Waterford then you avail of the services here too. This brings the total number of libraries in Waterford to 12.
Walking in the door you will get that “new library” smell and everywhere you look it sparkles and glistens. New books on the shelves, beautiful décor and the natural light that comes in makes for a very comfortable atmosphere.
There are plenty of places for you to sit and read and with wifi throughout internet access is simple.
The library also offers two meeting rooms for community groups or individuals who wish to have workshops etc
There is also an amazing outdoor space that is fully decked and in a courtyard style where you can sit in the summer sun.
Becoming a member is simple all you have to do is fill out a library membership form which is also available online. You can then borrow up to 12 items (books, DVD and much more) for up to 3 weeks.
You will also be entitled to access their online resources for free at a time and a place that suits you. Download bestselling eBooks and Audio books, browse and download your favourite magazine from over 100 top titles, discover and learn a new language with over 7 languages to choose from.
There are also a comprehensive range of free online courses on offer and using ProQuest you can also search for full text articles across a range of newspapers world including the Irish nationals.
