Waterford In Your Pocket’s weekly weekend Waterford Gig Guide. So, what’s on in Waterford? We want to bring you as many gigs as possible that are taking place in Waterford and we use our Facebook events to do so. If you have a gig and want to be included in the Waterford Gig Guide then all you have to do is add Waterford In Your Pocket as “Co-Host” on your Facebook event. It’s that simple. Remember Waterford City is a Purple Flag City which is all about promoting a safe, secure and fun night time economy in Waterford.

FallAway House – Gig at ‘One The Waterfront’ 9pm
Come to One the Waterfront an exciting new restaurant open now in Tramore. Join them for breath-taking views and friendly service at their oceanfront venue accessible from the beach and Gallweys Hill. FallAway House will be performing at 9pm Friday 12th and of July – with John Moloney, Adam Power and Kate O’Beirne – the three piece. They do covers from rock to jazz, using vocals and a range of instruments playing on the outdoor deck with stunning ocean views!

Mescall left Ireland in the early nineties, to move to London. His first cut as a songwriter followed with ‘Road to Glory’ cut by Eleanor Shanley, other songs of Don’s found their way to artist’s including Frances Black, who went on to record nine other of Don’s songs. Read More….
On The Lash – Live Podcast at Gradys Yard 8pm
Two of Ireland’s best podcasts team up for what promises to be a great night. DJ Walsh and Eoin Tabb of Snugcast along with Fin Dwyer of the Irish History Podcast will be looking Ireland’s relationship with booze over the last few centuries.
This live podcast will be taking a humurous look at the history of boozing in Ireland. The three podcasters will be looking at whether our relationship to alcohol was always unhealthy? Did people really only drink alcohol in the Middle Ages because water was so bad? Why did the church try and curb drinking before the Famine? This will lead to the holy grail of alcohol related quesions – why we cannot have just ‘the one’? Snugcast will also navigate the good, bad and indifferent beers you can get and maybe even how to it can enjoy it rather than guzzled down. Tickets are free and available HERE.

After our recent sell out resident showcase in June, we launch our new monthly “RePublik Invites” series in Factory Main Floor. This will add to our weekly Workshop residency at Factory and run alongside our major international events at the club.
RePublik Invites will give new upcoming acts an opportunity to showcase what they’re about, along with already established local and Irish guests
We kick off on Sat July 13 when resident Kenno is joined by Esoterics Geoff Foley and Sam Quigley. Opening the night will be new boys Benny Mac and Dave Lee who impressed at he their recent Workshop gigs

Saturday July 13 we return to Project with headliners Alt8 & Sarah Mooney playing a back-to-back set. Both Alt8 & Sarah have been busy this year with gigs such as Life Festival & Higher Vision Festival for Sarah while DJ & producer Alt8 is just off the back of a set on Mass Festival’s main stage, Sea sessions & Techworks earlier in the year.

Sunshine Tantrum Tour: Waterford 3pm
In collaboration with Modwords, Boundless & Bare join the spoken word festival Modwordsfest. The Sunshine Tantrum Tour will journey to Waterford on the 14th July.
Throughout the year Modwords offers open mics, writing classes, and is an activist in community development, pushing for a city working together.
Line-up: Ciarán Callan, Niamh O’Beirne, and from Glasgow Bibi June & Ross McFarlane Poetry.
Dúnaill and Moylan Brunnock in concert at Clonea Power 3pm
This truly is a concert not to be missed in the stunningly beautiful Pugin Church. Come along for a magical musical experience and admire the magnificent Harry Clarke Stained Glass windows in the peaceful picturesque village of Clonea Power.
Local acoustic harmony trad group, Dúnaill Folk Group, headline this not to be missed intimate concert accompanied by excellent young local musical talent, Moylan Brunnock, of Voice of Ireland fame. Tickets are €10 and you can get your tickets HERE
Gina & The Champions with special guest Ronan Collins 6.30pm
A spectacular Showbands special awaits as Gina and the Champions join special guest, Ronan Collins, for a fabulous open air concert at Millenium Park, Kilmacthomas.
