CAO First Round Offers
Today Monday the 20th of August, the first round of CAO (Central Applications Office) came out for all the leaving cert students who applied to go into third level education.
Although there has not been an increase in points for many courses there has been a rise in science, architecture and construction, engineering, law and primary school teaching.
With the first round offers comes decision time and you have until 5.15pm Friday the 24th of August to make your mind up.

If you want to accept an offer, applicants should log onto their CAO account and follow the instructions. If you decide not to accept an offer, you don’t have to notify the CAO. This means if no action is taken by the applicant before Friday, the offer will be passed on to someone else in Round 2.
But remember take the time to think about what you really want to do! Don’t hit that accept button if you are still unsure of what you want to do. Take your time and talk to friends and family and weigh up the pros and cons. Remember you have until Friday to decide. Do some more research into the courses you’ve been offered because you might find that the course you really want isn’t there.
WIT is holding CAO Offers Information Drop-In days from Monday, 20 August – Wednesday 22 August to coincide with Round One offers from the CAO.
The drop-in centre will run daily from 10:00am – 15:00pm. This will be the final chance for 2018 CAO applicants to ask any questions they may have regarding a course they wish to undertake in WIT. More information HERE.
This will be a FREE service and is open to all members of the public.
There is also the Leaving Cert Helpline which you can call on
