A massive congratulations to Waterford Walls and their partnership with Colourtrend who were awarded best small sponsorship for their collaboration with Waterford Walls at the Alliance Business to Arts Awards 2018. At the same event, held in Dublin on Tuesday evening, Waterford Walls also won the Dublin Airport Authority €5,000 arts award.
In a comment made to the Irish Times, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan said the awards “play a vital role in benchmarking models of good practice in Ireland, and a platform to showcase ideas”.
The 2018 Allianz Business to Arts Awards recognises businesses, artists and art organisations that develop creative partnerships. The shortlist shows collaboration between business and arts which takes place through sponsorship, staff engagement, commissioning, CSR initiatives or community engagement. Many of the collaborations are the result of long-term relationships.

Last month Waterford Walls were awarded EU funding to the tune of €90,000 through the Creative Europe Programme.
Chosen from almost 500 cities around Europe, the project was the only Irish one to be selected as a designated principal partner, leading the EU “Murals for Communities” programme with the two other European cities.The funding has been allocated to support the growth and development of the project working with the local community over the next two years.
Waterford Walls are going from strength to strength and have brought some amazing art and colour to the streets of Waterford city. The partnership of Waterford Walls and Colourtrend (who are an Irish owned company and have premises on the Tramore Road in Waterford City) seems to be a match made in heaven since the start of the street art festival in 2015. Here’s looking to a colourful future for one of Irelands leading festivals. Well done and congratulations to everyone involved.
