The Book Centre Waterford

The Book Centre Waterford is a bookshop at 25 Barronstrand Street in the city centre. It combines books for adults and children with stationery, greeting cards, gifts and an in-store café, making it a useful stop for readers, families and visitors browsing Waterford’s shops.

A bookshop in the former Savoy Cinema

The shop occupies the old Savoy Cinema, built in 1937. Its art deco character and surviving cinema features, including the screen, stage and ceiling, make the building part of the browsing experience. Take time to look around as well as search the shelves.

Books, stationery and gifts

The Book Centre’s range includes fiction, non-fiction, children’s titles and locally published books. Its website also offers book accessories, greeting cards, magazines and stationery, with options for shopping online when you know what you want.

For a particular title, contact the Waterford team before visiting to check availability. If you are buying a gift, the shop sells its own gift cards, which can be used online and in its participating stores.

The Book Bar café

The in-store café gives you somewhere to pause with a coffee and a book during your visit. Check directly for the café’s current menu and service times; these may differ from the bookshop’s opening hours.
