Ahead of the release of his highly anticipated, second studio album, ‘Blueprints’, which is scheduled for release on Friday, the 7th of July, 2023, Waterford artist, Oran Byrne, is hosting an album launch gig event in GOMA Gallery Of Modern Art Waterford at 7pm on the day of its release with support from the incredible Midnight Blind.
Byrne quickly exploded onto the Waterford music scene in 2021 with his hit single ‘Paranoia’, and after releasing numerous other singles consecutively throughout 2021, he released his debut album ‘Moving Forward’ on May 6th, 2022 ahead of a successful album launch gig in St. Patrick’s Gateway Centre. ‘Moving Forward’ is an eight-track album which explores themes such as fear, loneliness and abandonment, accompanied by rich, uplifting, upbeat, and sometimes, gloomy, haunting melodies.Byrne regularly cites The Beatles and Arctic Monkeys among his biggest musical and lyrical influences. This is particularly evident in his songwriting, as he tends to embrace the rich harmonies that defined The Beatles in his own music, coupled with the softly-sung poetic lyrics that John Lennon and Alex Turner are noted for. Byrne has since made his way through airwaves across both independent and mainstream Irish and UK radio stations as well as being featured in Ireland’s own Hot Press magazine.
CDs of ‘Blueprints’ will be available for purchase at the event along with a meet-and-greet and signing of copies of the album after the gig ends. It will also be available for purchase from local outlets such as Golden Discs, Luca Records & Decks, and Ardkeen Quality Food Store, as well as Oran’s own Bandcamp!
