Christmas Carol Concert 2017
For so many people in Waterford the Lions Club Christmas Hamper Appeal Annual Carol Concert is the real start to Christmas. The concert has become a tradition and such a special part of the Christmas calendar in Waterford. People from far and wide come together to hear the Waterford Concert Orchestra under the baton of Kevin O’Carroll with soloists and Choirs from all over Waterford City and County and to celebrate not only Christmas but also to celebrate and support the work of the Waterford Lions Club in their effort to look after the many families in need in Waterford. The Waterford Lions Club Christmas Carol Concert 2017 takes place at The Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Barronstrand Street, Waterford on Saturday 16th of December at 4pm (doors open at 2.30pm).
Last year during the interval at the concert the Waterford Lions Club collected a whopping record breaking €8,800 which went toward helping over 1,200 families in need this year in Waterford. The final result of the Christmas Hamper Appeal including the Live Auction was a massive €75,000. This could only have happened through the generosity of the people of Waterford who each and every year support the Waterford Lions Club in their efforts to make Christmas a special time for everyone in Waterford.
For the second year running Waterford In Your Pocket is on board as Social Media Partners and we were delighted to be involved with such a fantastic organisation as the Waterford Lions Club. Many people don’t realise that the Lions Club International is the biggest charitable organisation in the world and work tirelessly to help those in need.
2016 was the very first time that the concert was filmed, thanks to Frankie King and the crew at Frontline Audio Visual.
